I feel the same. Your observation make perfect sense and would produce
fine compositions. I'm not taking issue with your ideas except as they
apply to this image.
IOW, my explanation stands alone as a deliberate exception.
I agree that basic compositional "rules" certainly have their place,
especially during the learning process.
Now that I understand your "must have seen it" comment. I actually
thought of the crop during my look through the rangefinder.
I enjoy discussing such things and thank you, again for your
thoughts.:-))
