Well, it certainly gets better highway mileage (~50 hwy) than what I'm driving now (~33). And I'm really concerned with reducing my consumption of petroleum as much as the cost of it. We're probably going to spend about $24,000 no matter *what* kind of car we get, so there really is no extra cost for us.
