There are tags in the file that are not specified in the TIFF standard except to say that Pentax (in this case) can put whatever they want in there. The TIFF MakerNote tag is one of them. With raw data, I'm guessing there's something in the MakerNote that has moved, and that the raw converter needs to do its work.
