I think you're referring to the 959 here. Less than 200 were made. There 
was no 958 as far as I can determine.

And VW never owned Porsche. The Porsche family and the related Piech 
family owned it outright until 1972 when it was converted into a private 
limited firm. The same two families own all shares.

Porsche in fact owns 25% or so of VW.
