Finally I went to my friend's place and we tested the camera with my cable. Same result :-( If one connects the PC and the camera, with the camera switched off, the monitor goes blank. Then, if you switch the camera on, the PC turns off (???).
My camera worked fine with his PC. So, it seems that there is something wrong with the camera's USB module (if there is such thing). The camera works fine with the TV connexion though. Since August is a horrible month to have someting repaired in Spain, he'll waiit until september to use the warranty. The good news are that the camera can be used with a card adapter. I wanted to let you know just in case someone faces a similar problem.
