Part of my work on imaging correlators for Synthetic Aperture Radar remote sensors included development of motion compensating algorithms that lead in this direction. That was 20 years ago, and neither computing power nor the mathematical theory were well developed enough to obtain these results as yet for images without a priori data on sensor position. It's encouraging to see this stuff! Another generation or two of development, combine it with the plenoptic camera concepts (summary: record position, intensity and directional information of incoming light bundles hitting the sensor... current cameras record only position and intensity information) and imaging qualities will jump a quantum leap upwards. > But imagine this technology *combined* with SR or IS! > Perhaps we'll be hand-holding 300mm lenses at 1/15 ;-) um ... http://homepage.mac.com/ramarren/photo/PAW4/large/33.jpg © 2004 by Godfrey DiGiorgi Canon 10D + 300mm f/4L IS ISO 800 @ f/4 @ 1/10 sec :-) Godfrey -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
