Hi gang - today I received a note about future firmware upgrades to the
subject cameras. For those who care, here's the correspondence. make of
it what you will - I get a sense that there will be no further firmware
upgrades to these cameras even though that was not specifically stated.

Hi,
We have not been informed of the release date for a potential firmware
upgrade to our older *ist D-series of cameras to add compatibility with
the new SDHC memory card standard. I would advise periodically
checking the firmware update page on our Web site at www.pentax.com
for such an update.

Thanks,

Hi, Mark ...

Back in April you indicated that there will be a firmware upgrade to allow
the istDS (and presumably the DS2 and DL series) cameras to use the new 4GB
SD cards. I noticed that the new K100D has had a firmware upgrade to allow
it to use these new cards. Will you be upgrading the istDS firmware to
take advantage of these cards now that the new cameras are in the
marketplace? Is there any idea when such an upgrade will take place?

Thank you,
Shel Belinkoff
