Ahh, the Arriflex...what a great camera. The first time I shot with the SRII I was so knocked out by it that the 2nd AC finally put his hand on my shoulder and said, "Ok, Brendan, we get it, you like the camera."
The Eclair's have their following but they're really awful. The two examples I worked with, one as an AC and the other as a cameraman, were persnickity in operation and loud. With the mics they use today no camera is truly "silent" but the Eclair is a coffee grinder. Now, the Aaton...that's a nice machine. Superb to hand hold and smooth as silk running. Plus, other than the SRIII it had the best viewfinder. Funny how times change, though. Eventually, within my lifetime, even the movie industry will switch over to HD cameras and so much for film there, too. And guys like us, still relatively young, can reminisce with the next generation and say things like, "Yeah, I can remember when we used to have to load film magazines...and check the gate." -Brendan --- Cotty <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On 23/8/06, Brendan MacRae, discombobulated, > unleashed: > > >No, unfortunately.
