Leica cameras are made in two factories, one in Portugal that builds the basic bodies, installs the shutters, etc., and one in Germany that does the finishing work so they can be marked "Made in Germany". The M6 and M7 have come to Germany from Portugal in nearly finished form, and the Germans mostly add the top cover and adjust everything. The workers in the German factory are 100% native Germans. The workers in Portugal are mostly Portuguese with a few Germans. No middle eastern immigrants in either factory.
