We have the Italian migrant influx of the 50's & 60's to thank for that I think. The main drag here in Fremantle is referred to as the "Cappuccino Strip". Damn near every other shop you walk past is a cafe of some description, and the smell of fresh espresso is everywhere. I've never been served drip coffee in a restaurant or cafe.
