I did not see Crash, but my wife did, and she did not like it very much, so I assume that I would not either as we have similar taste (although... she did not like Brick, so I don' t know). I added Night Listener, because we like like Robin, but I had not heard of that one before. And you say that Scanner Darkly was good? I have not read anything about it, we only saw the previews and passed it off. Scanner is the one that uses real actors, but is sort of animated over? There is so much crapola that comes out now, that when I see something like that (esp. w/ Keanu) I just assume that it is some sort of gimmick. Like I mentioned, we like Robin, so we went and rented 'RV' (not that it is in the same category of movie we are discussing here, it is just the one I can think of off the top of my head) and even in a non-action comedy, there was a lot of blue/green screening going on. Obviously, you can't really high-center an RV and then use it like a teeter-totter to get it off, but why couldn't they have actually filmed the lake scenes ?!? My point being, that lately I shy away from effects-laden films, because it annoys me. :) Which is one thing that I really liked about Brick, is that for the most part, any effects were limited to what you can do by choice of lens.
