I really do not want to stir the pot any further, but I just encountered a post in Japan that reported that;
[He went to Pentax Forum (Sort of central service centre in Tokyo) to get the sensor cleaned. He tried to steer people there into the discussion on K10D, by telling that he was concerned about the 10mp for APS sized sensor due to the possible degrading dynamic range etc. Pentax replied that the sensor size may not necessary be the APS. Then he tried to pry open more info but could not sustain the chat.] You know I personally do not care if it's FF or APS as long as the package be compact. Right now, it's too wild to be true but the I have no reason to doubt the poster's sincerity either (it's rather a more objective site). He was genuinely surprised. But again, Pentax might have been talking about the different crop factor of APS sized sensor. Take this with a box of salt for now, but it's interesting nevertheless. Or maybe folks there too are caught up with the speculation fever ;-). BTW, re proprietary battery, I always thought K10D uses AA. But they might have changed it due to additional power requirements such as USM etc and went for higher power density of Li-Ion. I hope they maintain AA. There are AA Li-Ion too.
