Isn't that what high speed sync is for? The *ist has this, too. I've never bothered to get a cable or remote for it. Have you ever noticed vibration being a problem with the 2 second pre-fire? I use the pocket for the viewfinder cap. Very handy. Since obtaining the strap (thanks to Charles Braswell!)
