Well, I tried that, several times. Each time, the next image opens with whatever wonky settings ACR pleases. The "new Camera Raw Defaults" don't seem to "stick". I just can't seem to get it to open with =my= settings.

Up near the top of the right-hand side of the ACR window is a "settings" box which will now have the word "custom" in it. Nect to this box is a small circle with a triangle (pointing to the right). Click on this triangle to get a drop-down list and click "Save New Camera Raw Defaults" from this list.
