What you consider to be "in the field" is probably not the same as what others might consider. For my needs - if i were to be traveling as I have done in the past - a lap top would be a PITA and a big burden. You seem to be much more urban-oriented. In the field to me means out in the woods, off in the desert, lost in the mountains.
