Sort of makes you wonder doesn't it?  No way I'd buy a 645D @ >$1500 + then 
have to buy a load of new or used lenses.

I'd definitely plop down $1500 for a 12+ MP FF DSLR that I could use my 
existing lenses with. And maybe buy a few more.
