Having it at the back also means that you can keep tapping it as I reframe
or the light changes, _without_ moving any fingers. That's what I like.

It looks I've got to make new habits. Hope you are right about it getting
automatic after a while. Most likely you are. 

But I can see myself tapping the wrong button when changing from new body to
backup body. I can also hear myself using improper language over Pentax
while missing shots because of this. 

I'm probably making a lot of fuzz over a minor thing. Could be because I
have a bad cold and are in a bad mood ;-)

Having the green button near the shutter button means you can keep tapping
it as you reframe or if the light changes. I tend to work my finger back and
forth from the green to the shutter frequently when shooting with a K or M
lens. It soon becomes an automatic.
