Yes, interesting observations, I think that it shouldn't be too long
until the other manufacturers come on line and offer DNG, it's just
gaining too much momentum to ignore. I applaud Pentax for being so
forward on its thinking in this matter though they had little choice
if they wanted to start featuring as a viable choice given that PEF is
one of the least well supported RAW formats in third party imaging
software.

What I would like to see eventually is the dropping of the RAW term
and the wider adoption of DNG which should be promoted as the digital
negative, I think then lots more people would be able to identify with
RAW and its position as a un-processed file type.
