I don't have fancy studio strobes, but I have very adequate 300 watt  
monolight units. Just for grins I sometimes set them all to slave and  
trigger them with the RTF. The RTF is just bright enough to trigger  
the slaves but not bright enough to affect the lighting. But  
generally, the RTF is useless.
