I can remember the discussions back when the PZ lenses 
where introduced, the most likely cause for a totally
different 'style' of contacts is that the ones on the
bayonet itself could not handle the current required ...

There is also the issue of those contacts being shorted 
fairly easy, which is no problem for the 'info' type contacts
but is somewhat of a challenge for power contacts :-)
