I have the Kiron made Vivitar 24/2.0 in K-mount which I like a lot. Sharp enough for me (that professionally acceptable thing again) even wide open. BTW on DSLR that would be the equivalent of the 35/2.0 that is my most used lens on the film cameras. Now if someone wants to donate an istD (or a K10D for that matter) I will gladly deal with the green button kludge <grin>.
