Yep, digital is great fun. Take the shot, check the
results, then shoot and check again. Instant
gratification. Clean depth to the photos. Looks like
the best slide films.
Poor Pentax. They're missing out on the power of
instant gratification. Someone should introduce them to
Pavlov and modern sales marketing.
Pentax should knock together a quick thousand dollar
digital in K-mount, something with features similar to
other current mid-range 3.3 or 4 megapixel cameras. A
K-mount digital would make Pentax a major player again
overnight.
Heck, almost nobody would care if it lacked the top end
features, or lacked a full-frame sensor. We're Pentax
shooters, right? We don't need no stinking pro
features. Just decent build quality and good ergonomics
- and compatibility with most K-mount lenses.
My money is waiting on a 4-megapixel digital K-mount
autofocus Pentax for 1000-1300 US dollars. Better gimme
two - they're cheap, and my wife will want one of her
own.
But maybe Pentax doesn't want my digital camera money.
Maybe they think I need a Pentax proctoscope instead.
