I've had much better results with my DS and a Lee #87 gelatin in a Cokin
holder. Far stronger effect at somewhat longer exposure times (about 4
secs at f8). And its easier to take the filter on and off for setting up
the shot than with screw-on filters.

Focussing also takes some practice as you'll have to compensate far
beyond the IR focussing marks on the lens which are apparently
calculated for somewhere between 700 and 750 nm.

And, yes, it takes a day with a little less wind.
