Those "blocks" are curious. A loosy jpg, but still not opened enough to
have started showimg artifacts..I don't think.
Original is a large scan showing good detail. Teton peak was what I
focused on and with that lens set up, I found I couldn't just set it on
infinity and expect it to be the optimum focus. 
I've read, and believe, that in the case of this elk of lens,
temperature can cause a variation in the focus. I've set the pre-focus
stop at times, but never leave it for very long without checking.
