After struggling with the notion of buying the FA28/2.8 vs this one, I ordered the 28/2.8, then cancelled the order. Decided in the end that I wanted a DA series lens and wider was better. I'd planned to order it with the 10Mpixel Pentax body but I'm suspecting there might be a run on Pentax lenses after the announcement of the K10D, so to pre-empt that I ordered the lens early.
NICE, very nice. Fully as nice in build quality as the FA77 Limited is. Similar cheesy (but beautifully made) lens cap. The lens hood is awfully cute, but I wonder how effective it is ... I might just fit a standard metal screw-in lens hood instead, it would be better at helping me keep my fingers off the front element. The focusing ring is a nice size and easy to grasp, the QuickShift focusing feature is great (darn, I wish the FA77 had it). It fits the DS beautifully, so small and light yet not flat like the DA40 Limited.
