I had to make a similar choice recently and decided upon the FA50/1.4.
Because of my interest in available light photography, my decision was based
mainly on speed and not on cost. (Now I just need to get a 50/1.2 some
time!) I absolutely love this lens. Just astonishingly great results. It
is difficult to find a bad thing said about the 43mm, though - it's a
beautiful lens, and I'm sure it's superior in build, look, and perhaps in
manual applications. I haven't really helped at all here, have I?
