Not true. I just got paid on an eBay sale with an Albertson's money
order. My bank made it clear to me when I went in to deposit it that
they have had trouble with bogus money orders and advised me to wait
until it cleared through before shipping anything. With some of the
high end printers available today counterfeiting a money order would
be child's play.

If it was my eBay sale and I had specified that I would only accept a
USPS money order and the buyer said he was mailing me some other kind
of money order, I'd just refuse delivery on the envelope when it
arrived. That way it would be returned to him at no cost to me. If
he refused to send a USPS money order, I would give the next highest
bidder a second chance offer.

I say on my auctions that payment must be in my hands within seven
days, too, or I will relist. If payment doesn't come in, I relist
the item. I've been selling through eBay since it went into business
and am just too tired of BS customers to cut them any slack.
