I don't know where you're getting your pricing, Adam. I just hunted
Ebay and KEH and a couple other places. The SB-24s are running $99-
$200 used, compared to $80 NEW for the Sunpak 383. I've had this
Sunpak for four years and it's done a lot of duty for me. A previous
Sunpak 444 (I think it was...) I had, purchased in 1982, only died
when I dropped it off a 26' high ladder onto concrete in 2001.

Not to say there's anything wrong with the Nikon SB-24, but I've no
complaints with the Sunpak 383. If all you want is a good, cheap,
solid flash unit, the Sunpak remains my pick.

Metz also makes excellent flash units... now when will they come out
with a P-TTL SCA module?
