I know the So Island very well. It is the people south of Christchurch I
admire. Plus the geography is much more noble once you leave the Canterbury
Plains. The area where the beer of choice is Speights, Yes, this is the true
"mainland". The Island is known as the "North Island" and had to be
restrained by a huge cable to prevent it from drifting away.
