Greece is nice. I've been to several of the islands over the years,
including Santorini. I arrived on Santorini after spending a month on
Serifos, which was very quiet, unspoiled and idyllic at the time
(don't know if it's changed since). Santorini felt very touristy and
busy to me, as a result, but it's very photogenic with nice sunsets
over the caldera. The black sand on the beaches is a peculiar
experience.

The climb up from the ferry port is quite hard work.
