I do hope the rumor is true. Was out shooting this morning at dawn, chasing fog ... bugger all stuff remains elusive, always floating to the next inaccessible hillside when I get to where it was. I need to borrow a tripod, though ... despite buying a smaller tripod and packing, repacking a dozen times, I could NOT fit it into my carryon or checked luggage, which would have meant checking it. Even cutting my kit back to just three lenses (DA21, FA35, FA77), I didn't have the space. Grr. I might just buy another tripod here (they have the Manfrotto 190CLD with a pan head at Jessops for £105, or a Chinese copy for about half that) and leave it here with my friend for him to use and for me to have available when next I'm over.
