Its most likely either the exposure lock button ot the LCD illuminating button that
has been activated during the night and drained the batteries. The camera has a tight
fit in my camera bag. I received the following in my mailbox:
"That said, I have had a recent occurrance where the four "AA" batteries
in my BG-10 were found DOA one day right out of my camera bag. I found
that I had spaced the velcro dividers quite snug against my MZ-S. I had
also accidently left the camera on in the bag (not a rare thing for me
to do). As well, until now, I saw no reason to turn off the actual
BG-10 grip. What I found was that while in the bag, the AE-L button on
the BG-10 (one that sticks out more than other buttons) was depressed
for an extended period of time causing the camera to continuously use
power and drain the batteries. I have now made a habit of turning the
BG-10 off as well, so that if I forgot to turn off the camera, at least
it would auto-power off and save my batteries. I'm wondering if this
could be the cause of some others' battery problems?"
