I've got a polarizing filter stuck on the front of one of my lenses, as I discovered the other day. Trying to remove it by hand was a complete non-starter for me and several other people who tried. When I got home, I tried a strap wrench, and that "worked". That is, it was able to get enough grip on the filter to try to turn it. The reason for the quotation marks is that the filter didn't let go, something threaded underneath the focus ring started unscrewing! So I'm thinking I've got two choices at this point, (1) I could try to figure out how to break the glass out of the filter so I can deform the rings enough to pull them out without damaging the threads on the lens, and maybe still have to (2) send it to the repair center. Any suggestions? -- Thanks, DougF (KG4LMZ) -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net
