Hi all,
As I have found my Z-1p to be rather lacking in the ruggedness
department, I'm considering buying an MZ-S as a second body(or as a
replacement) for taking on outdoor expeditions, ie: multi-day
backpacking, hiking, backcountry skiing (actually snowboarding...),
mountain biking, traveling in wet/humid/dry conditions and so on. The
features I am most in need of are: build-quality, weather sealing,
ergonomics, electronic features, and user interface. In regards to
build-quality, I know that the MZ-S is much better than my Z-1p, but how
much of the MZ-S is actually metal? Isn't the back made of plastic? In
the case of weather sealing, I would like a camera that is well sealed
against moisture and dust, I recall this being discussed a while back,
but can no longer remember--or locate in the archives--the final word.
And as for ergonomics, electronic features and user interface, apart from
having rather slow fps--which I don't really need--I have found the MZ-S
to be adequate. I would appreciate it if anyone who has experience with
the MZ-S(especially outdoors), could fill in the some of the blanks, and
share some thoughts and comments.
thanks,
-Paul C
