Since 1972 I've bought eight new cameras (plus one used one), and
around the same number of new lenses (and as many again used lenses).
All my really expensive glass (200 & 300 f2.8, 80-200 & 250-600 zooms)
I've bought used. All the bodies (except for the backup MX) have been
bought new, usually in the first few weeks the camera was available.

I like the new DA* lenses, which means I'll probably be spending more
on new Pentax glass in the next year than I've spent in the previous 35.
So if the goal is to get into my wallet for new lenses, I'd have to say
that the plan is working.

And yes, I'm one of those who won't be buying a K10D immediately; I'll
be waiting until the DA* lenses get released. Based on past history,
this might get me a slight break on the price. But, there again, I've
paid early adopter prices for a Super Program, PZ-1p, MZ-S and *ist-D;
taking just the *ist-D alone Pentax (and Adorama) got $400 more from me
than somebody who bought the same camera just a few months later.
