When I used to do weddings, I used a RMC Tokina 28-85mm f4 (constant aperture). That lens was/is awesome (huge 72mm front threads - I still have it) and got lots of praise on the results (Fuji 400 portrait film at the time, shot at ISO 200, I forget the designation). I mention 28-85 because it could do everything at a wedding with no problems assuming you have a bright enough finder ( I used a MX ) and (didn't try to focus indoors with the lens stopped down all the time, JOKE). I think the 16-45 is a little too wide and short, But you might get by. In any case you should only Use one lens or multiple bodies if you want to use Two or more lenses. During weddings and receptions you need To shoot FAST. No time to keep changing lenses back And forth. Wedding parties don't like long delays Caused by the photographer in my experience. jco

I am "commuting" back and forth to D.C. this fall, a 2.5 hour flight. Hassles on both ends between screening/searching of luggage at departure, long waits for checked baggage on arrival. So I have tried to minimize my to-and-from load. (Partially by stashing one suitcase with most of my clothes in the hotel here over the weekends when I go home.) This time up here I "needed" to bring some photogear as I am taking a side trip to North Carolina this weekend for a wedding. And I really really tried to stay minimalist. Final minimal solution: *ist-D DA 16-45 DA 50-200 FA 77 Ltd For this occasion, if I had to go with just one, I would have chosen the 16-45. Once I decided to bring a 2nd lens, it was just as easy to bring the 3rd. stan On Oct 12, 2006, at 6:26 AM, David Savage wrote: > G'day All, > > I'm going up north tomorrow (Dampier) for work.
