        The aperture coupling requires the same, plus a hardware redesign, 
plus an (albeit likely small) per-unit increase in hardware cost.

        Don't get me wrong... I'm a big proponent of putting the sucker 
back in.  It's just that if they are hell-bent on NOT putting it in, a few 
more operational choices would help some of the current shortcomings.
