Truthfully, it's like asking Pentax to put an aperture cam follower onto a DSLR. The big difference between Canon and Pentax regarding this is that it's recent history with Pentax. That and they didn't make it impossible to use K/M lenses. Thats a big plus, especially considering that their intention with the istD was to pretty much ignore K/M lenses as obsolete.
