Autofocus is good when you need it no doubt,
But why remove AE when you need that AND DON'T
Need AF?

Pros nowadays oten feel they need autofocus. That leaves the K/M lenses
looking like sad little cats that have been left out in the rain.
This presumes that there is a significant number of pro photographers
out there using Pentax DSLRs in the first place.
The pro world has moved past the level of automation that K/M lenses
allow, even with full support.
If a K/M lens is too slow to operate because of the metering routine,
then one would be better advised to go with a lens that provides a
greater level of automation than a K/M lens can support.
