Thats right. In theory, if you have your system calibrated, and they 
have their system calibrated, then it should be WYSIWYG.
Unfortunately, this may only work in theory, since your calibration 
reference isn't the same as theirs.

When I had both my lab and home system in calibration, I was, for the 
most part, able to take files from home to work and print with very 
little corrections, but the need for minor tweaks was still there.
If you can get your files to the point that the lab doesn't have to do a 
lot of work on them, everyone is happier.

As an aside, I shot a wedding back in late August, but didn't get to the 
printing until after my vacation.
I took the files to the lab I used to work at, and they totally buggered 
the colour, to the point I was questioning whether I had given them good 
files or not.
I had, but they have let the machine drift so far out of spec that my 
calibration may as well have not been done.
