I like the durability of the metal knurled Rings on the SMCT lenses much better than The later rubberized rings. In any case, I like the "feel" of the the SMCT Focus mechanism better than ANY lens, bar none, I have ever had the chance to focus. When In good non abused condtion they are simply Unmatched in that regard. jco
