Ever leave a lens perched on a rock or log and walk off without it?
That can quickly get you out of the motel and back in the field..before
dark.
My evening motel relaxing/sipping time will start even sooner in the
future.

No. Caps, yes. If I am going to shoot with more than one lens I take a camera
bag. That's the only way I can carry more than one lens at a time anyway. And
I check the bag before I move on to another location. As I get older I trust
my memory less and less.

Although I have driven off, twice, with a video I meant to return to the
video store still sitting on top of the car. Once I bounced off before I got
out
of the driveway. Another, I made it about twenty minutes into my trip, then
suddenly heard a bang, bang. Looked back and a video was in the street. Stopped
the car at the side of road, ducked through heavy traffic and got it. Returned
it, it was fine. Simply amazing it stayed on top that long. Both were fine, no
extra charges either time. Of course, those were videos, not dvds. I and they
might not fare as well now.

At least neither was a baby. :-)
