Maybe, but the DA14 is not spectacularly different from the various 15mm  
lenses. 1mm shorter, half a stop faster, a bit shorter but with a larger  
diameter. It is definately larger and heavier than the equivalent lenses,  
the A and FA 20/2.8.

I'm fairly sure a DA35/1.4 would need to be 58mm thread, and would need to  
be asymmetrical, and therefore optically worse or more complex (or both)  
compared to a symmetrical 50mm.
