If it were *stated* that the information came from Elvis Presley would
that make it so?

The information comes from this "TammyV"
"TammyV" *says* she got this from a store manager...
who *says* he got an email from a Pentax rep...
who *says* he got it from Pentax USA.

It's several steps removed from being information that comes Pentax
USA. And it's subject to misinterpretation and distortion, both
deliberate and unintentional, at every step along the way.

Mark and Adam, you are free to form your own conclusions. I haven't
formed a conclusion. I just found the posts interesting.

Let's see...What are the possible conclusions? I assume the two posts
originate in two different camera stores. If so, then:

1. Employees in two camera stores independently came up with the idea of
fabricating similar stories, each story attributed to a Pentax rep.
(Note that in each report, the delay is attributed to hardware.)

or:

2. The employees in the two camera stores conspired to put out this story.

or:

3. The Pentax rep. put out this story maliciously because he is one of
the employees to be terminated on Nov. 30, when the Chinese company
takes over Pentax.

or:

4. The reports do originate with a Pentax USA rep., who just happens to
be mistaken.

or:

5. The reports do originate with a Pentax USA rep., who is disclosing
some inside information.

Or there other possibilities?

Take your pick. I don't know which is correct. I have pursued this
simply because something smells fishy to me about Pentax's explanation
for the delay. Ken has given us a good reason to believe that Pentax's
explanation is accurate, and I respect Ken and value his reports. I
could well be wrong about all this. But it will nag at me until that
fishy smell goes away.

Joe
