Brendan -
I have an identical looking pair in 6X25 - wide field 11.0 degrees. The 
markings are different in that
they have both Asahi Optical Co. markings & Asahi Pentax markings. Got them 
in 1969 new, in Bermuda.
Even the case looks somewhat yours, only in black with a newer type of 
clasp.

They're built like a tank.
Don't use them much anymore since I got a pair of Canon stabilized  - you 
have to use these to really appreciate them.
