One of those inexpensive blue LED flashlights works even better to show up
dirt, dust and haze. If you want to scare yourself silly sometime, shine
one of those into a lens you thought was clean.

Take each of your lenses into a dark room with a flashlight, open the lens
to
a full wide aperature, and shine the flashlight through the lens while you
look into the other side. Try it both directions. You'll see all kinds of
little bits of dust and such. If there is much of a haze, you'll see it
too.
You'll also see front or rear elements which have a cleaning film on them.
Compare the lenses to see which seem to be worse than the others.
