Leon, I've tried several compact digicams although none of the Pentax Optios. The only ones that are working for me are the Fuji F30 and its stablemates (the F10, F11, etc) due to sensitivity. The F30 is the only camera in the class that has been able to return this kind of quality from ISO 800 captures:

It also produces 30fps .AVI movie files, 640x480 resolution. Other specifics it's probably best to get from DPReview.com.
