The most difficult coating I have ever dealt with is HOYA HMC. Pretty
soft
and easy to scur. After years of trying, the best solution is acetone.
You
read me right, acetone. The way I do it is quite straight forward. Fold
a
piece of toilet paper into a thick small cube, dip a bit acetone, then
wipe
the coating from centre to edge. Never rewipe. Voila! The coating will
be
clean as new, and I do mean NEW, no scratch, no mark, no hazy, nothing.
Pure
isopropyl alcohol works too but takes a little more skill. In fact they
work
so well I use them for CCD cleaning too. Dirt cheap and not as scary it
may
seem once you tried. But for CCD, you need a pair of metal tweezers.
