Sorry for the late posting. I am travelling on business/pleasure, still
taking time to check out the PUG and commenting. I cannot leave the
photography too far behind ;-)
Ollen Mullis -- Fat Drop in Strange Terrain
This is one of those images you either love or hate and the emotion will
also depend on the viewer's outlook that day. The first glance at the photo
did nothing for me. Then I could see into it more and appreciate it, either
by looking at it more closely or my mood at the time. I could see this
easily being on a wall, though I don't know if it would be on mine long
term. It is a great shot. One of those other viewpoints that people would
not even consider. I tried looking at different croppings and noted that
depending on how I looked at the monitor I would get more color information
out of it. Would love to see it as you see it. The only other cropping
that was pleasing to me was leaving off some of the darkness on the left.
The color loss would not be significant. The drop is fascinating! Nice
job.
Steve Larson -- LAX Encounter
Considering how you got the shot, it came out fine. I am not so much
bothered by the black square on the right as I am by the lack of balance by
not seeing the other leg of the building. Even the control tower to me is
not distracting. It defines the environment. The restaurant placement is
fine, but my eye is drawn away from it to the supports. It is a very good
showing of the subject. Learning of how you took it, it invites itself to
be revisited. Actually the more I look at it I enjoy the busy look. I
think it would lose a lot if a lot of extraneous objects were removed.
Entertaining image.
Jim Brooks -- Our Lady Of Three Graces
I love this image. One would never think that the subject were pure white
marble statues. Great use of film! Some may comment on the highlights and
perchance the cropping. I find the image fine the way it is. It is
captivating. It is one of those images that invites study. It makes me
want to see them in person and see more into your 'view' of them. You may
find a better cropping, but this image talks to me the way it is. I would
not change a thing.
