I noticed that after I sent that post.
It shouldn't be a problem for the lens mount, but I could see it being a 
problem with an AF lens's focusing helicoid. I doubt if it would be a 
problem for an older manual focus lens, especially a PK or Canon FD 
lens. They are pretty much built like tanks.
If the lens has a rotating filter ring, I suspect it would be really 
awkward.
